Want Beautiful, Luscious Skin? Go Back to Eden with this Black-Owned Skincare and Soap Brand

What better feeling is there than to feel clean and smell good? There are so many skincare products on the market boasting in their ability to transform your skin. But do they really deliver?

My obsession with skincare products started in high school with Bath & Body Works. And while their scents are heavenly, theirs and other mass produced skincare products contain fragrances and chemicals that are potentially harmful to our bodies. The older I get, the more drawn I am to products that not only smell good, but also heal and nourish my body. And this means taking it back to the basics–the God-given nutrients from planet earth.

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the customer appreciation event for Herb’N Eden, a Black-owned Atlanta based soap and skincare brand. At the time of the event, I had not tried any of their products. I purchased two whipped body butters and six soaps. After using the products for an entire week, I can say, without a doubt, this is my new favorite skincare line!

Where can you get plant-based, handmade, luxury skincare at an affordable price?! I’ll wait!

If you’ve never tried Herb’N Eden, read on to find out about the company, my favorite products and deals you can get right now.

About Herb’N Eden

Terran (left) is the co-founder of Herb’N Eden.

Husband and wife team Terran and Quinton Lewis are the co-founders of Herb’N Eden. Their journey started with an internship at Urban Sprout Farms where they learned about soil, plants, herbs, and soap-making. What started for Terran as a hobby quickly turned into a business as her husband, who she calls “entrepreneur-minded,” encouraged her to pursue a start-up. Learn more about their story here.

Terran says, “I didn’t choose soap-making–soap-making chose me.” In other words, Herb’N Eden is more than just a business–it’s a calling. What these founders do transcends the act of soap-making. They are answering a greater call to serve their community with holistic, quality products for optimal skin health. During their interview at the event, Quinton encouraged all in attendance to “produce for [ourselves] so [we] can produce for others.” Terran and Quinton are inspiring a generation of leaders, self-starters and entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams while serving their community.

The plant-based brand offers natural soap, body wash, body butter, facial serum, deodorant and more. The products are void of “fragrance oils, or toxic ingredients like phthalates & parabens.” The natural ingredients in each product has proven successful against varying skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, and hyperpigmentation. There are a variety of scents to choose from for men and women, and many of the products are gentle enough for children’s use.

My Favorite Skincare Product

For the past week, I have used Herb’N Eden’s South African Lavender bar soap. It lathered really well and felt as creamy as lotion on the skin. After drying off, there wasn’t an oily film left over, yet my skin wasn’t dried out as is the case with many commercial soaps. I felt clean and moisturized. After showering, I used my current favorite of their products: the whipped body butter in geranium & lavender. The butter melted into my skin and gave off a fresh and floral but not overpowering scent. Here are the ingredients in the body butter: shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, sunflower oil, geranium essential oil, lavender essential oil.

The other scents I purchased are rose water kefir and lavender, oatmeal honey and vanilla mint coffee. The products on my list to try next are the face wash, facial serum and body oil.
